Károly Szegő, physicist, examined our Solar System. "Cold. Dark. Infinite loneliness. Is it a fare description of the cosmos?" he asked. A picturesque lecture brought the nappy retort. No! The cosmos is full of motion, change, and fantastic activity, such as solar flares and the dance of the atmospheres around the planets. Most of these events cannot be detected by our five senses. Most of the radiation arrives in the spectrum of electromagnetic waves that we cannot see. This is why we have built special instruments to study the environment surrounding the earth - this is space technology .
